Everyone is looking for a hero. When tragedy or unrest in the world occurs, we want someone powerful to help right the wrongs. That’s why superheroes are so popular. Who doesn’t want someone saving humanity with their web? Or stopping criminals with a Batarang? Or cutting down evil with a light saber?
In a recent interview, Daniel Craig who plays James Bond in the newest Bond movie Spectre, claims not to be like James Bond in real life. When asked if he admired anything about the character, he said, “I hope there is a hero out there watching everybody’s backs. It would be nice to think there is someone out there looking after us.”
I believe there is a hero looking out for us. He sent His Son two thousand years ago to save us. You only need to ask. When you do that, you become someone powerful. In Revelation, the Bible’s last book, there’s a description on what happens at the end. Those powerful people get to use a Batarang. (Well, maybe not. And don’t hold your breath for a light saber either.) But we will be on the winning side.
